Ben Tate, the running back whom the Browns signed for 2-years and $7 million in March, was released today.

The move feels shocking, but then again, after his terrible 2-carry, -9 yard performance against the Texans Sunday, maybe some folks in Cleveland saw it coming?

Tate opened the season as the starting running back for the Browns, but he was hurt against Pittsburgh and immediately, rookies Isaiah Crowell and Terrance West took over.

Tate returned in October and gashed the Texans for 124 yards on 22 carries, but he kept losing carries each week to the faster, quicker rookies.
