ESPN unveiled the latest edition of the College Football playoff rankings Tuesday night. Alabama jumped from No. 5 to No. 1 after beating previously undefeated and last week’s No. 1 Mississippi State over the weekend. The Bulldogs remained in the Top Four, pushing TCU to No. 5. Oregon and Florida State remained No. 2 and 3, respectively.

Bear in mind most of these teams still have between two and three games remaining on their schedules, meaning the Top Four is obviously subject to change — however that doesn’t mean they can’t provide talk radio material in the interim. The selection committee’s final four teams will be selected on Dec. 7.

Our site’s Ty Duffy detailed at length earlier today a scenario on how a one-loss Mississippi State could, potentially, miss out on the playoff.

The Weekly Top 10

1. Alabama 9-1
2. Oregon 9-1
3. Florida State 10-0
4. Mississippi State 9-1
5. TCU 9-1
6. Ohio State 9-1
7. Baylor 8-1
8. Ole Miss 8-2
9. UCLA 8-2
10. Georgia 8-2
