How did North Carolina celebrate a 45-20 romp over Duke Thursday night? By going into the visiting locker room and spray painting the walls and carpet.

According to the Herald Sun, the spray paint (you can see one player celebrating with spray paint on the sideline after the win in the photo above) caused “significant” damage.

"Interior and exterior walls as well as the carpet were painted, causing thousands of dollars in damages."

In the rivalry, the winner gets a “Victory Bell” and players spray paint it. The trouble was they wheeled it into the locker room and the college kids kept spraying painting.

A UNC spokesman said the school will pay for the damage, and Tar Heels coach Larry Fedora and AD Bubba Cunningham apologized. [via Herald Sun]
