Ray Rice Drawing Interest From Four Teams Per ESPN Report [UPDATE]

Ray Rice won his appeal against the NFL on Friday for immediate reinstatement. According to a report from ESPN’s Adam Schefter Rice’s return could be coming soon, as four teams expressed “interest” in the 28-year-old running back. Schefter cites both the Colts and Saints by name but writes that both teams are, “not expected to pursue him.”

Rice received an indefinite suspension in September after video emerged of him knocking out his then-fiancee inside the elevator of an Atlantic City hotel. Rice was initially suspended for two games for the incident.

Rice is a three-time Pro Bowl selection, but rushed for only 660 yards in 2013 and hasn’t played or practiced since the summer. Teams will have to juggle these facts with the massive PR hit — and subsequent media flurry –that would result from signing him.

The NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, however, doesn’t expect Rice to play during the 2014 season:
