Arian Foster Broke Out an EPL-Worthy British Accent During a Q&A Today
By Mike Cardillo
NFL locker room interviews are quickly becoming must-see stuff, as players find new ways to tweak the media and or entertain themselves while answering mundane, if necessary for a reporter to their job, questions. Earlier this year Arian Foster gave a famous interview where he kept giving the same answer about being the “best teammate (he) can be,” but on Thursday he out-did himself by conducting a question-and-answer session in a British accent.
I’m going to give Foster some props here for his method acting/accent work — at one point bristling when a reporter used the more Australian term “mate.” Foster also actually gave useful answers to the reporters, too, so more points for that. Where I’m giving Foster his highest marks is that he went small with his accent choice — think David Beckham British accent– rather than a full faux Lock, Stock & Two Smoking Barrels overly broad cockney.
The only regret here is Foster didn’t find a way to use the British term “pace” to talk about his speed on the pitch field. Foster did leave with a pleasant “cheerio” making this a jolly good show indeed.
