Will Tiger Woods Make the Cut at the Hero World Challenge Golf Tournament?

Tiger Woods currently sits in last place at the Hero World Challenge – an 18-man tournament hosted by Tiger Woods. Golf’s biggest name was 5-over in the first round and sits 4-shots out of 16th place. The question is – what’s the cut in an 18-man tournament? I assume the top 18 make it to the weekend, but I’m not sure.

Think about this – Last year, Dustin Johnson finished in last place. So the most recent player to finish last in this event was kicked out of golf. If that doesn’t put pressure on Tiger, what will?

Here’s the leaderboard graphic used on SportsCenter today. 15 out of 18 tournament participants are shown in this graphic. In case you ever wondered who ESPN really doesn’t give a shit about, it is Patrick Reed (T16), Keegan Bradley (T14) and Jason Day (T12). They couldn’t have reduced the characters a single font size to show everyone? Or maybe put the breakdown of Tiger’s day on a second graphic?

Either way, if you’re going to feel bad for anyone, feel bad for the Tiger Woods Foundation. Dustin Johnson earned $100,000 for his last place finish last year and Tiger Woods generally donates his winnings to his charity.
