Jarius Wright Scored the Longest Overtime TD from Scrimmage Since Garrison Hearst in 1998, to Beat the Jets
By Jason Lisk
Oh, Jets. At least they won again by losing, just like last Monday against the Dolphins, while still playing hard and not giving up.
Jarius Wright took this simple wide receiver screen and broke it all the way to give the Minnesota Vikings the win in overtime. It was the longest play from scrimmage for a touchdown since 1998, when Garrison Hearst (also against the Jets) took it down the sideline for 96 yards. It’s the 3rd longest OT TD from scrimmage, behind Hearst and Jaworski to Mike Quick for 99 yards. (there have also been 3 return touchdowns of longer length).
