The Miami Dolphins Crowd Isn't Exactly Rocking For a Potential Playoff Elimination Game Against the Ravens

The Miami Dolphins have had attendance issues for several years at Sun Life Stadium. The franchise hasn’t had much success on the field in the last 12 years, only making one playoff appearance. This year, though, they are right in the middle of the playoff chase, and currently sit in the 6th seed slot. Miami is also hosting Baltimore in what is a key game for tiebreaker purposes; the loser is likely in big trouble and needs to win out.

They were expecting “virtually a full house” today. Either they were wrong, or are going to have to fudge the numbers and count everyone wearing orange and looking like a seat.

To be fair, the above photo was taken just after the start of the second half. Maybe everyone is still getting beers and going to the bathroom (though that would be some major crowds at those two spots if so). For comparison, here’s a shot into the lower part of the same end zone after the Miami punt about ten (real time) minutes later.

It’s similar to what was seen in the upper deck and tweeted out by a Baltimore Ravens blog at the start of the game.

There are several December games that are affected by weather between bad teams. This is not one of them. Playoff excitement, feel it.
