Bo Pelini Will Join Jim Tressel at Youngstown State

Bo Pelini will not be completing the four-way trade between Nebraska, Oregon State, Wisconsin, and Pittsburgh. The recently deposed Nebraska coach has agreed to become the next coach at FCS Youngstown State. That likely explains Youngstown State President Jim Tressel being spotted in Lincoln.

The move makes sense for Pelini. It keeps him head coaching, over being busted down to coordinator. He’s from Youngstown. He could recharge for a few years before returning to FBS at the right time in the right situation.

If one is being truly cynical, the Youngstown State job fulfills his obligation to find employment, while leaving Nebraska on the hook for much of his $7.65 million buyout.
