Aaron Rodgers came into today’s game against the Lions battling a calf injury of enough severity for the Packers to have both backups — Matt Flynn and Scott Tolzien — active when usually they only carry one. Rodgers went down on a play where he threw a touchdown to Randall Cobb to put Green Bay up 14-0, and walked off the field supported by trainers. He headed into the locker room on a cart, and we do not yet know the exact extent of today’s injury. It goes without saying how much this has the potential to affect the Packers’ fortunes, both today and beyond.

UPDATE: The Packers have announced Rodgers has a calf injury, and his return is questionable.
