Jim Harbaugh and Jed York Announce They are Mutually Parting Ways, Harbaugh Officially Leaving San Francisco

In the “breaking” news department that comes as a shock to no one, Jim Harbaugh is out in San Francisco. According to Jed York, “Jim and I have come to the mutual conclusion that it is in our best interest to move in different directions.”
It appears as though the Harbaugh strategy has worked, because there will be no long prolonged struggle to work a trade within the NFL, or choose Michigan. He is free to sign with another NFL team without compensation, and we now await whether he really wanted Michigan all along.
Of course, the other way to look at this is that the San Francisco 49ers’ leadership has already been told that he is off to Michigan, so this is a face-saving move for them. Expect something pretty quickly.
