Kyle Orton to Retire (Again), What Will Buffalo Do at QB?

It’s Black Monday, and the hits just keep on coming. Marc Trestman, Mike Smith, and Rex Ryan have all been jettisoned, and word has trickled out through everyone on my Twitter feed that Kyle Orton plans to call it a career. To be sure, this is the second time in the past year that Orton has told his team he plans to retire (he kind of did so with the Cowboys last summer), so it’s possible we’ve got a Brett Favre situation on our hands … the best quarterbacks just can’t make up their minds on the subject.

In all seriousness, it’s a genuine question as to what the Bills could’ve done this season if Orton, who ranked 25th in Total QBR, had even been a league average quarterback. The team’s defense was one of the best in the league, stifling Peyton Manning and Aaron Rodgers in back-to-back weeks at one point. Barring unforeseen circumstances, like EJ Manuel making a massive leap, the team will be burdened at quarterback next year as well.

Nevertheless, Orton certainly had a fun career in blog years. These are some photos and GIFs to remember him by:
