Barry Alvarez went for it on fourth down just on the Badgers’ side of the 50, with Wisconsin trailing 17-14. Good call, and even better to bring Melvin Gordon back into the game for the fourth down play. Of course, how much of a gamble is it on 4th and inches when you have the best running back in college football?

Melvin Gordon picked up slightly more than the first down, going through the Auburn defense and tight-roping his way down the line to get the pylon before getting knocked down. Yeah, he’s pretty good, and went over 200 yards for the game with a quarter remaining.
