By Mike Cardillo
New York Jets running back Chris Johnson was arrested Friday night in Orlando, Fla., in for open carrying of a weapon/firearm, per a police report posted by Florida Today reporter Erika Esola. The charge is a second degree misdemeanor. Pro Football Talk cites a league source that Johnson has a llicense to carry a firearm in Florida.
The team is aware but not commenting via numerous beat reporters:
"Johnson was pulled over after rolling through a stop sign, according to a source close to the player. Police asked to search his car, and he cooperated. His licensed and registered firearm was found under a book bag under a seat instead of locked up, resulting in the charge for “open” carrying."
