The Patriots were down 28-14 just five minutes into the second half, and for a moment, it looked like Joe Flacco and the Ravens were going to beat the Patriots for the third time in the playoffs.

But then New England got creative, going with the seldom-used “receiver ineligible” play to confuse the Ravens twice on a scoring drive, and then Bill Belichick and Josh McDaniels dipped deep into their bag of tricks, with Julian Edelman catching a pass from Tom Brady, and then tossing a 51-yard TD to Danny Amendola to tie the game at 28.

On cue, Joe Flacco’s terrific game was blown up when he floated a pass long and was intercepted by Devin McCourty.

With more than a quarter to play, this one is shaping up as a classic.
