Richard Gasquet defeated Kei Nishikori (6-7, 7-6, 7-6) in the semifinals of the Brisbane International on Friday. During the opening set, Gasquet lofted a volley that set up Nishikori perfectly for a super-cool-looking overhead smash. Nishikori completely missed. He then recovered enough to turn around and try to return the ball over his head backwards, but whiffed a second time. Nishikori is currently the 5th-ranked player in the ATP.
