Alice in Chains Will Play Halftime at the NFC Championship

Alice in Chains will play halftime at the NFC Championship game. Alice in Chains is from Seattle and was of course one of the most successful grunge bands to come out of the 90’s. Jerry Cantrell has been a fan of the Seahawks since they were an expansion team. Presumably, Pearl Jam was asked to play, but refused to play a set that lasted less than 2 hours.

As much as I’ve loved Alice in Chains for the past two decades, I’m not 100% certain they’re the perfect pick to get a crowd hyphy during a playoff game. If the 12th Man is a bit quiet in the second half they’re just thinking about the idea of William DuVall singing Layne Staley’s songs and where their youth has gone. Not to mention all that remains unsaid between themselves and their fathers.
