Australian Seagull Gets Knocked Out During Cricket Match, Carried Off Pitch, Miraculously Recovers, Gets Ovation

I hate seeing animals get hurt, but when one of the most beloved baseball highlights of all-time is Randy Johnson fastball making a dove explode, I think we can all appreciate a concussed Australian seagull during a cricket match. During a KFC T20 Big Bash League match between the Melbourne Stars and Perth Scorchers, a batsman hit a line drive that knocked out a seagull.

The seagull was carried off the pitch by one of the players and everybody (probably) just assumed it was dead. Fortunately, the bird wasn’t dead, it just had a bird concussion. A few moments later it stood up and got a huge ovation from the Aussie crowd. The seagull really appeared to enjoy his moment in the sun, but odds are he had no idea where he was. The bird concussion protocols in Australian cricket are severely lacking.
