Tim Cahill is now 35 years old, but still manages to be a deadly finisher by any means necessary inside the penalty area. Thursday in the Asian Cup quarterfinals vs. China the Australia captain added another great finish to his resume with this overhead kick(*) from close-range that helped push the Socceroos into the semis via  2-0 win. Making the goal even better is that Australia is hosting the tournament so the home crowd went a little crazy after the New York Red Bulls midfielder scored.

The goal, while good and important — Cahill scored twice in the match — it’s not quite his stunning strike vs. the Netherlands at the World Cup last summer. Let’s use that as an excuse to watch that one again, shall we?

(*) Almost called it a bicycle kick in the headline, but thought better of it because that would personally offend someone out there reading this.
