Jim Harbaugh Michigan Contract: $4,000 of Clothes, At Least $4 Million Per Year For Assistants

Michigan made Jim Harbaugh’s contract available to outlets who filed a FOIA request. The full contract is available by the link below. A few highlights…
* Harbaugh will receive $500,000 per year in base salary and $4,500,000 in additional compensation. That increases by 10 percent after year three. It can increase from that amount by an additional 10 percent from the increased amount after year five. The university can also adjust that to bring it up to “fair market value.” Deferred compensation agreement will be negotiated.
* Potential bonuses (a) Conference Performance ($125,000 for B1G title game, $250,000 for B1G Championship), (b) Postseason Performance ($200,000 for playoff committee bowl, $300,000 for playoff, $500,000 for national title) (c) Coach of the Year ($50,000 for B1G Coach of the Year, $75,000 for winning National Coach of the Year) (d) APR Score of 960 or higher (payment not to exceed $150,000)
* Apparel allowance of $4,000 per year for personal use from Adidas, vital for a noted clothes horse like Harbaugh.
* Harbaugh has to give Michigan 48 hours notice before discussing other jobs
* Fringe Benefits – 2 automobiles, 25 hours per year of private jet use, private stadium box
* Guaranteed assistant coach salary pool of $4,000,000 to $5,000,000. Increases by 10 percent in year three and year five of the contract.
