Amateur Golfer Made a Hole-in-One at the Famous 16th During Phoenix Open pro-am
By Michael Shamburger

Dave Wood, an amateur golfer playing in the Waste Management Phoenix Open Pro-am on Wednesday, hit the shot of a lifetime at the very famous par-3 16th. The hole is surrounded by stands and is probably pretty intimidating for amateurs. I mean, I would be intimidated stepping up and hitting in front of 20,000 fans waiting to erupt at a moment’s notice. I’d probably duck hook it into the stands, but that’s not what Dave did. Wood made an ace, something that’s only been done 7 times during tournament play since 1990.
