Seahawks Angry Earl Thomas Tested for HGH After Saying His Shoulder Was Fine
By Mike Cardillo
Lo and behold there was an actual story this week that applied to the Super Bowl game itself — the status of Earl Thomas’ dislocated shoulder. The Seahawks defensive back hurt himself in the first half of NFC Championship Game, but managed to return later on. Wednesday Thomas told the assembled media his shoulder, thanks to the work of the trainers was a ’10.’
Thursday morning, Thomas tweeted he was randomly tested for HGH, a performance-enhancing drug the league began randomly testing for in October.
As you might expect, Thomas’ teammates aren’t very happy at the random blood test that might require him to play the Super Bowl with a bandage.
This actually seems like a story worth reporting on from Arizona. Of course it’s Thursday and the Super Bowl is Sunday. Roger Goodell speaks Friday, so odds are this will be an afterthought … even with endless hours of pregame coverage on Sunday.
