The Minnesota Timberwolves beat the Miami Heat on Wednesday night, 102-101. With 41-seconds remaining, Kevin Martin hit a jumper to give the Timberwolves the lead. The ball bounced out of bounds where Norris Cole picked it up and tossed it in to Hassan Whiteside. Whiteside, who had his second 20/20 game of the season, then handed the ball to Cole after he stepped in bounds.

From there it just got weird as Cole instructed Whiteside to step out of bounds and throw it in again. He did. Ricky Rubio and the referee noticed and the T-Wolves got the ball back. It was one of the most boneheaded plays you will ever see. While the Heat still had a chance to win the game with a full shot clock… what the heck, guys? Ricky Rubio’s fullcourt defense is not that intimidating.
