Philippe Coutinho's Fantastic Goal Lifted Liverpool Past Bolton in the FA Cup

Liverpool trailed Bolton 1-0 during the second half of Wednesday’s FA Cup Fourth Round replay. Down, but not out, Liverpool rallied on goals from Raheem Sterling and Philippe Coutinho in the final 15 minutes to advance. Okay, calling the Coutinho strike “a goal” is an understatement. Sure it was deflected, but the little kiss off the bottom of the crossbar makes it extra sweet.

Once again Liverpool can thank Inter Milan for selling them the Brazilian during the 2013 January transfer window, the same window that brought Daniel Sturridge to Anfield.

Call it a nice bounce-back for Liverpool, which was eliminated by Chelsea last week in the semifinals of the League Cup. If anything Brendan Rodgers needs to figure out a way to play Emre Can in midfield, rather than in his three-man defensive line.

Liverpool plays Everton on Saturday. That’s, you know, kind of a big one in England.
