Tiger Woods withdrew from the Farmers Insurance Open after 11 holes. This is Tiger’s 3rd withdrawal in his last 8 tournaments. Tiger struggled at the start of the round but fought back to even before doubling the par-4 2nd hole, his 11th and final hole of the day.

Afterwards Tiger told reporters that his back tightened during the early fog delays and never loosened back up. Not wanting to push his luck, he withdrew. This is a good call on Tiger’s part if he wants to have any sort of shot at playing in the Masters or…at all.

Hopefully, this isn’t the end of Tiger and he can find the right swing and treatment for his back that will allow him to return to form. Again, I’m a believer, but this is obviously a very bad sign. Luckily for golf fans, there are many young stars to keep an eye on.
