Tony Kornheiser Popped Up On The Americans Last Night
By Mike Cardillo
Tony Kornheiser is everywhere these days, well, if we allow ourselves to define “everywhere” as photobombing Bill Simmons, Ben Affleck and Matt Damon at the Super Bowl coupled with a cameo during an episode of The Americans on Wednesday night. As The Washington Post, Kornheiser’s former employer notes, the PTI host pops up briefly watching for the Ray Mancini-Duk Koo Kim bout at a bar alongside series star Matt Rhys.
Let’s put on our thinking caps and mull this one over. The Americans is set in 1982 Washington. During that period Kornheiser worked as a writer for The Post. So, in theory, was he playing himself? A sportswriter watching a prize fight at a bar isn’t out of the realm of possibility.
Anyways, no spoilers, since our resident Americans expert (Jason Lisk) hasn’t watched last night’s episode yet.
