Blake Griffin will undergo surgery for a staph infection in his right elbow, the Clippers have announced. Griffin will miss at least three games, and be reevaluated after the All-Star break. It’s too soon to tell right now, but hopefully this will not be a major setback for the power forward, who is averaging 22.5 points, 7.5 rebounds, and 5.1 assists per game this season. For the All-Star game, Yahoo’s Marc Spears has noted that Damian Lillard and Mike Conley are potential replacements for Griffin.

UPDATE: ESPN’s Ramona Shelburne says the initial prognosis is for Griffin to miss 4-6 weeks.
