This is How a 356-3 Score Happens in a Professional Rugby Match

Rugby is a violent contact sport that has provided this blog with some of my personal favorite highlights. The above video does not feature any such highlights. It comes from a recent match between Royal Kituro and Soignies in Belgian’s top division.  As you can see, one of the teams wasn’t really trying. The reason? Most of their team left because the referee was an hour late to the game.

Soignies assumed the game was canceled. When the referee showed up an hour late, the game went on and the remaining players had to participate so they would get a point in the standings. (Forfeits earn 0 points) The result was one of the most lop-sided matches ever recorded as Royal Kituro beat Soignies, 356-3. [BBC]
