Jeff Van Gundy and Mark Jackson were dual guests on Jimmy Kimmel Live Tuesday night, and a substantial portion of this clip was spent discussing vehicles. Van Gundy relayed an anecdote about Jackson, for no real reason other than wanting the satisfaction of doing it, instigating Gerald Wilkins into buying a new car. Jackson said that when he was a rookie his big ticket purchase was a flashy new BMW, but that he saved money by living in the same house he did in college and sharing it with his brothers: “I didn’t bring ladies home.”

Van Gundy announced that he’s upgraded from a Honda Civic to a Toyota Camry, and told a story of returning from a playoff loss to Miami down 3-2 in the series to find his car totaled on the airport tarmac — the specifics of which I don’t want to spoil.
