Photos: Snow Buried Fenway Park and Gillette Stadium

There’s a lot of snow in Boston. Yes, I know, snow … in a Northeastern city … in mid-February … absolutely crazy, mind-blowing in fact. Sarcasm aside, when you see a picture like the one famous TV weatherperson Jim Cantore posted of Fenway Park Thursday morning, it does put the massive amount of snow the city received into perspective. Fortunately, the Sox don’t play at home game at Fenway for a few weeks, although Dustin Pedroia trying to play second base wearing snowshoes would be temporarily amusing.
If they did play a game at snow-covered Fenway, perhaps it would look a little something like this:
Thursday, if you didn’t already have it circled on your calendar, is “Truck Day” for the Red Sox. It’s the day the team brings a bunch of equipment south to Fort Myers, Fla., for Spring Training. If this sort of tale interests you, Boston.com wrote a lengthy profile on the man driving the truck, Al Hartz, and his three-day, 1,480-mile trek down the East Coast.
Meanwhile, the snow looks even worse at Gillette Stadium in Foxoborough, which is located 57 miles south of Boston.
That’s a wicked lot of snow. Remember that when Roger Goodell awards his best pal Robert Kraft a Super Bowl one of these days.
