Jim Tomsula Got Media Training, Is Just Another Boring NFL Coach Now

Jim Tomsula, the new head coach of the 49ers, evidently received copious media training in between his disastrous interview last month and his press conference this afternoon. He opened the Q&A session (in which the Q’s were frustratingly inaudible on the team’s broadcast) by making light of the prior train wreck, and quickly pivoted into answering questions with the same boring, speak-without-saying-anything formula of the rest of the NFL coaching fraternity. He’s accountable for his staff. They’re watching film. He doesn’t get into speculation. His football players are great football players. Rinse. Sing Twinkle Twinkle Little Star. Repeat.

This is an outrage. He was supposed to be the gift that kept on giving. What the hell?
