Joey Barton Got A Red Card For Attempted Low Blow on Tom Huddlestone

Joey Barton, the outspoken QPR midfielder, might want to take a break from social media after today’s game vs. Hull City. Following a foul near midfield players crowded around the ref. Barton pushed away one Hull player and then tried to land a blow below the belt on Tom Huddlestone, earning a red card for his attempt.
Not smart. Not smart at all, especially since Barton — wearing the captain’s armband for QPR today — groused about Jordan Henderson’s ability to captain Liverpool earlier in the week.
This is a, frankly, amazing stat about Barton:

It’s hard to see how he avoids a three-game ban for this, whether or not it actually landed.
