VIDEO: North Carolina Honored Dean Smith By Running Four Corners Offense for a Bucket
By Kyle Koster
North Carolina paid tribute to the late Dean Smith today by running the Four Corners offense on the opening possession against Georgia Tech. Marcus Paige found a streaking Brice Johnson for an easy layup.
Although Smith didn’t invent the offensive scheme (where four players wait in the corners while the point guard dribbles down the middle of the floor), he is famous for utilizing it during his Hall of Fame run.
This is the Tar Heels’ first home game since Smith’s death on Feb. 7.
Great to see such a simple, yet practical tribute from Roy Williams.
