Ian Poulter, every American’s favorite* Ryder cup golfer, started off his second round at the Honda Classic with a birdie-eagle-birdie combo on holes 3, 4, and 5. On the par-5 3rd hole, Poulter’s caddie had to chase away a duck that was directly in front of him and obviously distracting him during his shot. The duck must have been good luck for Poulter because he birdied the hole.

Poulter then followed that up by holing out a shot on the par-4 4th from 116 yards out for an eagle. He then birdied the par-3 5th hole and later birdied the par-4 8th, moving himself up into a tie for 4th place at -4 before play was suspended

All-in-all it was a solid first 8 holes for Poulter.

Also of note, Rory McIlroy missed the cut.
