Randall Cobb Signs with Green Bay, 4-years, $40 Million

Randall Cobb, in a surprise, is staying in Green Bay for less money than he could have gotten elsewhere. It’s a brilliant move for Cobb to sign a 4-year, $40 million deal with the Packers, because really, what’s $10 more million (probably less than half that after the agent, lawyer and taxes) to play for the Raiders or Jags and have to wait at least two years to maybe get in the playoffs?

Does Cobb have the patience to work with an up-and-coming QB who may or may not be a stud in a few years, or Aaron Rodgers, who already looks like a Hall of Fame lock? The Packers should have been in the Super Bowl, and probably will continue to knock on that door for the duration of his contract.

Cobb turns 25 in August, so this deal will ensure that he gets one more big money deal.
