With running back LeSean McCoy and his $11-million+ cap number off-the-books, it appears that the Eagles plan to use that money to sign Free Agent/Former San Francisco 49er Running Back Frank Gore.

Despite being on what many would consider to be the “tail end of his career”, Frank Gore hasn’t missed a game since 2010. An absolutely ridiculous achievement considering the regularity of injuries in the NFL today. In addition, Gore has nine 1,000 yard rushing seasons, 11,073 yards for his career, and a 4.5 yards per carry average.

In re: to what the Eagles are going to pay Gore? To be determined….

With the Seahawks giving Marshawn Lynch (~29 years old) $12 million for 2015, the Vikings supposedly offering Adrian Peterson (~30 years old) $12.75 million per season, the Bills signing LeSean McCoy to a Five-Year/$40 Million contract, and the Saints signing Mark Ingram to a four-year/$16 million deal — it appears that the NFL running back market is back to being ‘Bullish’, and per this precedence: we should expect the Eagles to sign Gore for anywhere between $5-$8 Million per year.

The earliest that Frank Gore can sign with the Eagles is this upcoming Tuesday, the first official day of NFL free-agency.

As for the 49ers and their fans, it’s the end of an era. Feel free to pour one out, reminisce about the good ol’ days, and relive his greatest moments here…
