LeSean McCoy officially became a member of the Buffalo Bills today and did the media rounds, which included a stop on the NFL Network with Scott Hanson. During the interview, Frank Gore’s decision to sign with the Colts finalized, so Hanson asked McCoy if he’d talked with the ex-49ers back who originally indicated he was going to go to the Eagles in free agency.

Gore changed his mind, with a Fox Sports report citing Chip Kelly’s “overbearing” approach in Philly as one of the reasons.

McCoy and Gore traded information — McCoy asked about former 49ers offensive coordinator Greg Roman, now with the Bills — while Gore asked about Kelly. McCoy joked about the conversation with Hanson. Transcription via The 700 Level:

McCoy reiterated that he didn’t think his talk had much influence on Gore, saying the ex-Miami standout made his own decision and that everything he told Gore about the Eagles was positive. McCoy took a similar tone when asked by reporters at his introductory press conference about Gore in Buffalo.

That said, McCoy’s comments — joking or not — could add to the questions hovering around Kelly and his recent roster decisions, which includes trading Nick Foles for Sam Bradford on Tuesday.
