VIDEO: Brawl Between Southern and Texas Southern Women's Basketball Teams That Resulted in 15 Suspensions

Southern and Texas Southern’s women’s basketball teams brawled during a Southwestern Athletic Conference game on Saturday night. The fight broke out with 12:36 remaining in the second half of the teams’ final regular season game. The Advocate obtained video that showed the punches, sucker punches, cheerleaders, fans, coaches… this brawl had it all. 15 players were suspended as both teams head into the SWAC tournament.

"Texas Southern players Toni Cheadle, Dana Jones, Miracle Davis, Diamonisha Sophus, Morgan Simmons, Ashley Ferguson and Alexus Johnson were all given one game suspensions by the conference. Kiana Vines received a two-game suspension. Southern’s Shaquandria Litmon, Jadea Brundidge, Jasmine Jefferson, Kendra Coleman, Corteni Purnell and Yasmine Nelson were all awarded a one-game penalty. Keonia Parrish was given two games. She was dismissed from the Jaguars team on Monday."

Both teams are two wins from a rematch.
