The musical chairs of NFL free agent running backs continued today, with Darren McFadden signing a two-year deal with the Dallas Cowboys. The move helps, in earnest, to offset the loss of DeMarco Murray who signed with the Eagles on Thursday.

The oft-injured McFadden played in 16 games for the Raiders in 2014, rushing for 534 yards on 155 carries. That’s the first time in his eight-year career the veteran back didn’t miss any time during a season. Running behind the strong Dallas offensive line should help, too, however many carries McFadden gets.

Anyways, in terms of workload it’s a big contrast from Murray who led the NFL with 1,845 rushing yards on 392 carries. Suffice to say, the Cowboys probably aren’t done addressing the running back position this offseason and questions will continue to linger about whether or not Jerry Jones will make a move for Adrian Peterson.
