Matt Phillips Scored a 45-Yard Thunderbolt for QPR vs. Crystal Palace
By Mike Cardillo
QPR lost to Crystal Palace 3-1 today in the English Premier League. Odds are when it’s said-and-done, QPR will end up relegated to the Championship where it faces a very murky and uncertain financial future. If there’s a small silver lining to Saturday’s loss — and the season on a whole at Loftus Road — it’s this fantastic, 45-yard strike from Matt Phillips just outside the center circle.
As noted in the match commentary, Phillips didn’t catch Palace keeper Julian Speroni off his line — he simply ripped a shot into the upper corner. Also worth noting, it’s the longest goal in the league this season.
Seriously, that’s an awesome strike.
