P.K. Subban Celebrated Canadiens Victory via Stone Cold Stunner on Goalie

P.K. Subban, as you can guess from the title of this post, decided to give the Canadiens’ backup goalie, Dustin Tokarski, a Stone Cold Stunner following a 41-save night vs. the Florida Panthers on Tuesday. This is worth bringing up for a couple of reasons. For one, it’s 90s nostalgia and that always sells in the coal blog mines. Secondly, Subban doesn’t simply try the fake Stunner on Tokarkski, he begins it with the all-important “swift kick to the mid-section” to set up the finishing move. As always, it’s the attention to detail.

For whatever reason I’ve always wondered why Stone Cold’s opponents always stood there, waiting for that kick to the mid-section that made the Stunner possible. Why didn’t they move or try to block it? Another thought: why didn’t Austin go for that kick right after the opening bell. Few opponents got up from the Stunner, so why not go for the finisher early?

Oh right, wrestling/sports entertainment is scripted and not real. Anyway, thanks for making me think of all this very important stuff again today, P.K.
