Quentin Snider, a freshman, sank two free-throws with 8.9 seconds left as 4th-seeded Louisville survived a massive scare from UC-Irvine, 57-55. In a game that was tight and mostly ugly throughout, UC-Irvine took a 2-point lead with a minute left, only to give up a quick basket to Ronald Blackshear (game-high 19 points), setting the stage for the final moments.

Luke Nelson took a far-too-long 3-pointer that Snider corralled in the corner, and he was pushed by an Anteater. The freshman calmly sank two free throws for the final margin. UC Irvine didn’t even get off a final shot, turning the ball over in a scrum near mid-court. Was that a foul on Rozier? Probably.
