Quentin Snider, a freshman, sank two free-throws with 8.9 seconds left as 4th-seeded Louisville survived a massive scare from UC-Irvine, 57-55. In a game that was tight and mostly ugly throughout, UC-Irvine took a 2-point lead with a minute left, only to give up a quick basket to Ronald Blackshear (game-high 19 points), setting the stage for the final moments.

Luke Nelson took a far-too-long 3-pointer that Snider corralled in the corner, and he was pushed by an Anteater. The freshman calmly sank two free throws for the final margin.
