Justise Winslow, one of the best wing defenders in the country – CBS analyst Grant Hill called him the greatest defender in Duke history – ran back on defense and swatted this layup attempt by JJ O’Brien, leading to a 3-pointer from Duke’s Quinn Cook, and the Blue Devils are slaughtering San Diego State, 37-24 at halftime.

This game got an honorable mention as one of the best 2nd round games, but Duke leapt to a 15-4 lead on the strength of Jahlil Okafor (18 points in the half), and led by as many as 18 points. San Diego State, which struggles on offense to begin with, is shooting a meek 10-of-32 from the field, and has missed all five 3-point attempts.

The only thing in doubt here is if Duke can cover the 9-point spread. When Duke wins, it’ll face Utah in the next round. Though I have Duke beating Kentucky in the Championship, the Utes will provide a significant challenge because in addition to playing excellent defense, they can actually score offensively.
