Pat Connaughton came up with two great defensive plays to keep Notre Dame alive and get the game against Butler to overtime. The Bulldogs had the ball with the shot clock off, when Zach Auguste rebounded the shot attempt and started down the court. Unfortunately, the big man touched the ball with both hands briefly, resulting in the rare double-dribble call that gave Butler one more chance with 2 seconds left.

That’s when Connaughton came flying to the rescue with a great block. Then, he did just enough on the desperation toss toward the rim to send it to overtime.

UPDATE: Notre Dame won it in overtime, and sealed the victory with this Jerian Grant drive and kiss as the shot clock expired.
