Colin Quinn's Online Cop Show Delivered A Pretty Funny Joke About Matt Harvey

Colin Quinn simultaneously owns the best and worst celebrity Twitter feed going these days. For example:

The tweet itself is enough to make you groan out loud reading it, but the responses it triggers from CQ’s fans — which he often retweets — are even better. If you’re on Twitter, give him a follow — Quinn’s nuggets of wisdom and droll observations of New York life will bring a little sunshine to your otherwise dreary day. Beyond that, it’s nice to see that a celebrity can still act like a regular Joe and rub shoulders with the so-called little people.

Currently Quinn is starring in the creatively titled web series, “Cop Show.” It’s about cops, I think. During episode No. 4, guest-starring Nick DiPaolo, the fake show’s police consultant scoffs at the jargon-laden dialogue and offers to write some new material. The result? A Michael Cuddyer mention along with an unexpected dig at Matt Harvey via dialogue that might have actually been ripped straight out of the mouth of a WFAN caller.

The joke starts around 2:45 with Quinn and DiPaolo talking about the Mets and grumbling at Harvey’s rehab from Tommy John surgery last year(*) and his diva-like persona.

"“I gotta pay 60 bucks so Matt Harvey can pick up the tab for models at the Standard Hotel, he’s supposed to be rehabbing in Port St. Lucie, [inaudible] the SoHo House in Manhattan.”"

Sick. Burn.

Anyways, gang, let’s start a petition to bring back Tough Crowd. Make it happen, Comedy Central.

(*) If only there was a way to rewrite the joke to include a complaint he isn’t the Mets Opening Day starter at Citi Field …
