Knicks Official Provides Bizarre Reason for Carmelo Anthony Not Sitting on the Bench

Carmelo Anthony underwent knee surgery six weeks ago. While he’s been around the Knicks’ locker room, he hasn’t been sitting on the bench (as Kobe does at Lakers games, for example). The stated reason, via the New York Post, is pretty comical:

That obviously sounds really silly, but it’s still more politically correct than, “This team stinks, I can’t bear to watch. They’re not making me do it, so why the hell should I?”
