Mike Francesa Has No Idea Who the Hosts of Fox Sports Live Are

Mike Francesa’s New York radio show has been simulcast by Fox Sports for just about a year. It hasn’t been a marriage made in heaven. Thursday afternoon Francesa came back from break and decided to talk about Fox Sports Live and its lack of promotion. Francesa said of hosts Jay Onrait and Dan O’Toole, “Nobody knows their names.” [Full disclosure: I interviewed the pair in 2013 and they were the nicest people I’ve ever interviewed over the phone.]

Francesa goes on from there and says he’d like to try to use his audience to promote the show and then veers into some rant about how people outside New York think everyone who lives there sounds like Andrew Dice Clay. He also took some swipes at FS1 for preempting his show with “soccah.” If nothing else Mike’s papal decree got the show’s name out there via some free promotion.

Anyway, Newsday‘s Neil Best has a little more in-depth stuff on Francesa’s current displeasure with CBS radio. Soon we’ll probably have an update about Fox Sports, too.

This concludes your daily Mike Francesa piece of sports blog content.
