Charlie Adam noticed Chelsea keeper Thibaut Courtois was off his line shortly before halftime and decided to blast a Hail Mary shot toward the goal. The Stoke City midfielder’s prayer was answered.
There have been more skillful goals scored in the Premier League this year, but none from as far out as this one. And for good reason.
Professional goalies generally make it a point to not get burned by shots originating from 200 feet away. That’s why they’re pros.
