Per TheChicagoTribune, a football signed by Chicago Bears quarterback Jay Cutler was not bid on & went unsold at the Anti-Cruelty Society’s (a pet-adoption charity) auction last month.

Anti-Cruelty Society President Dr. Robyn Barbiers told The Chicago Tribune: “When it came back, I was surprised it didn’t go, but I didn’t think it was because of who signed the football,” She added that the attendees weren’t exactly “a football crowd.”

I wouldn’t be surprised if the entire city of Chicago “wasn’t a football crowd” by the end of this next season.

It’s ok though, guys, an unnamed buyer ultimately purchased the ball this weekend for $100 as a gift for his Bears fan son. Jeez, have we reached the point in Jay Cutler’s career that fans are so embarrassed of him they don’t want their name to be made public in association with his memorabilia?

Why do I have the feeling the “unnamed buyer” was actually Jay Cutler?

Oh, P.S. Jay Cutler has become so irrelevant that you have to specify on Google that he’s a football player, when searching for pictures of him — otherwise you get the more popular/body-building Jay Cutler. Da Bears!
