For some reason everybody in the EPL decided to score amazing goals this round of games. In any week Wayne Rooney, Alexis Sanchez, Charlie Adam, Jermain Defoe or even Bobby Zamora would easily be able to claim best goal of the week. Crystal Palace’s Jason Puncheon added another fine strike, this time by a curling free kick, to put his team ahead 2-0 on Manchester City. Palace hung on to win 2-1, despite a Yaya Toure goal.

The goal could prove costly for Manchester City, last year’s EPL champions. City is still seven points clear of Liverpool and Tottenham for fourth (and the final Champions League spot) but Manuel Pellegrini’s team is a point behind rival Manchester United. The two teams play on Sunday. Whichever team places fourth needs to play a two-leg playoff to officially qualify for the Champions League group stage.

Crystal Palace can probably rest easy since Alan Pardew’s team is double-digits ahead of the drop zone. Another season of ‘Glad All Over’ in the EPL? Yes please.
